Add “author” to the ex-Blur guitarist’s impressive resume. Graham Coxon’s latest album, Superstate, is the “soundtrack” to his graphic novel and, like most Coxon projects, it’s really good.
It feels like late era Bowie at more than a few places, and only in the best ways. It chronicles a dystopian future, but if you’re looking less for sci-fi and more for engaging hooks, you’ll find them here.
