LIELA MOSS COVERING RAIN SONGS, BONERAMA PLAYS (LED) ZEPPELIN and BELL BOTTOM BLUES by CHAD REINERT

Three covers albums for review today!

It’s Led Zep…With horns! This doesn’t always work (The Crunge is a skip track), but it usually does. In particular, “When the Levee Breaks” becomes a New Orleans Funeral Dirge and, gasp, it’s just as good as the original when you get right down to it.

A few tour dates. I wish I lived in Rochester, ’cause I bet this is a fantastic live show.
6/1/2019 – Happy Valley Music Fest – State College, PA
6/21/2019 – Rochester International Jazz Festival – Rochester, NY
6/22/2019 – Rochester International Jazz Festival – Rochester, NY

And speaking of putting new and risky tones into old classics, Chad Reinert has country-fied a bunch of songs ranging from the “that’ll obviously work well!” (e.g., Peaceful Easy Feeling) to the title track of this collection: Bell Bottom Blues. Standouts: “Can’t You See” (Marshall Tucker Band) and “Shallow” featuring Colene Walters.

And last but not least, the smooth and gentle Liela Moss EP of rain songs…
