Between Clemetine Creevy’s sexy voice and the title of both her band and album, you’d be forgiven for for thinking this was a porn reivew. And issuing “Daddi” as the lead single doesn’t do much to change that impression. And that’s kind of the point, as they explained here.
But despite their statements, this doesn’t sound like a political album. it sounds young, like a good party record. It’s not stupid or vapid by any stretch, but it’s also not going to inspire the overthrow of nations. And it doesn’t feel like it was designed to. It feels like a good time.
Yeah, this is indeed hot bubblegum pop, with a strong 1990s feel. It’s quite good, though.
