Okay, yeah, there’s a tribute to Loretta Lynn on the new EP by female country singer Jill Martin. But don’t let that stereotype turn you away–this is an excellent and fairly original collection of terrific songs. First of all, her voice is amazing. It’s not flamboyant and doesn’t have some kind of texture or gravel that makes it unique. Rather, it’s a girl-next-door kinda sound that’s perfect for the kinds of songs she’s writing: About love and life in America.
I’ve listened to this EP multiple times, and each one is better than the last.
Highly recommended.
