Illa Ghee’s new album is perfectly at home at Duck Down Records–a label known for publishing tough, underground-style rappers with excellent production, and never giving up credibility.

Ghee’s lyrics are similar to some of well known label-mates like Bootcamp Klik and Sean Price–gritty street stories, hard-rhyming battleraps…True Brooklyn hip hop.

And there’s just a few guest spots–most notably by Skyzoo. Not so many that Illa gets dusted on his own album, but enough to add a oomph from a somewhat better known name. Illa’s rep is growing after appearances on a few Mobb Deep projects, and here’s hoping this only adds to his climb.

Excellent album. Highly recommended.
