LOTO BALL SHOW; RIDE THE BOOGIE; VAL EMMICH

I’ve gotten submissions lately that deserve to be mentioned, but I just don’t have the time to do full reviews on them. These are their stories. Ka-chunk.

VAL EMMICH-“Little Daggers”

Val Emmich‘s new album features brights, sunny pop, simple songs, and fun, bouncy guitar work. He’s on Bluhammock Records, if you want to learn more about him and his music.

The Lucky Ones

RIDE THE BOOGIE-“Ride the Boogie”

Ride the Boogie are hard to classify–both laid back and funkie, new school and groovie, I pronounce their album worth a listen.

Big Ass Bass

LOTO BALL SHOW-“Levy on the Eye Way”

As you can imagine from the name of the band (“Loto ball show,” get it) and the names of some of their songs (“Hoodlims;” “Oriental Danzig”), the Loto Ball Show make hard-edged fratboy rock. I found the album a little uneven, but there was enough there to impress me. I bet they’re a lot of fun live.
