I really like this EP. I recognize that some of the songs feel unfinished, ending abruptly. I also recognize that it’s AM Radio vibe might not appeal to everyone–particularly people who think music has to be heavy to matter. But Helium is just as much an element as Iron, right? There’s definitely a spot for gentle breezes, and Hamjam’s EP hits that spot.
You have to love the 1970s sax solo in the middle of lean. Or the plaintive loneliness of Sippin’ Rose All Alone, with its repeated refrain: “Drinking again…Drinking again…”
