Sampha Sisay is best known as a producer, but he’s moving out from behind the boards on a debut album that’s an amazing, unusual blend of beautiful R&B, neo soul, lite hip hop, ambience, and just all around solid music. And unlike most producers-turned-artists, he doesn’t bog the record down with a ton of guest shots. It’s really just about him.
Early indications are that he’ll be winning a ton of awards this year.
