EXTREME WITCHCRAFT by EELS

Eels have been around a while, and change their sound with each album. My personal favorite has been the indie funk of Souljacker, and that’s pretty close to what they’re doing on Extreme Witchcraft, their new album.

Mark Oliver Everett’s voice has never sounded better. I wanted to love this album, but as it stands I just really liked it. There’s a bit too many songs that just aren’t all that interesting. But when it works, like on the single “Magic,” it’s really fun.
