This album is DARK. It’s like Nick Cave covering Drive-By Truckers. The songs all have an edge and feel as if they are creeping toward you, slowly, relentlessly.
Very good. McCall has been touring for a few years now, building up a cult following, and this album is easily the most interesting of his career so far.
But then, I’d keep my eyes out for him. If he’s this good now, imagine how great he’ll be when he’s had a lot more experience. McCall is one to watch.
