Sometimes it feels like 2020s music is just a slew of girls who sing in a slightly deep pitch and write moody “I wish I wasn’t so depressed/in love/out of love” songs. But please don’t make that a reason to sleep on Faye Webster’s second album. Because it’s good. It’s even better than her first.
And yeah, sure, the swirling of sadness can get a little heavy by the end of the record. But it is evened out by the sweetness of “In a Good Way,” the humor of “I Know I’m Funny haha,” and the actually upbeat single, “Cheers.”
This album is a home run.
