Lande Hekt has broken away from Muncie Girls, her band of 10 years. This is her debut solo record, following an EP from 2019. It’s smooth, with terrific lyrics, and several “earworms” like the single, Whiskey (above).
Very good record!
And my second pick for this week is on the opposite side of the spectrum: =The loud post-punk of Shame’s “Drunk Tank Pink.”
But it’s not just postpunk. For their second album, Shame allow numerous other influences to creep in, giving the album a very full, complex sound.
Check it out!
