15. Segall Smeagol by Ty Segall. A song-for-song cover of Harry Nilsson’s Nilsson Schmilsson.
14. Forever Just Beyond by Clem Snide. The band returns, after having retired, with a collection of profound and thought-provoking songs.
13. Saturn Return by Secret Sisters. Brandi Carlile signs on to endorse this terrific country-folk record.
12. 100% Yes by Melt Yourself Down
11. Harry Styles covering Sledgehammer on The Howard Stern Show.
10. Melee by Dogleg
9. Lead Me by Cee-Lo Green. The artist’s new single is the perfect song for our time.
8. Bonny Light Horsemen. Their self-titled debut of beautiful quiet folk.
7. I So Lounging with Amanda Shires. If you can get past the quality of an internet broadcast, you’ll find Shires and her husband Jason Isbell performing their own songs and many great covers, from the expected tribute to John Prine to Pink Floyd’s, “Wish You Were Here,” and even Radiohead.
