1. Neon Bible by A Giant Dog. A song-for-song cover of Arcade Fire’s second great album. I’m as shocked as you are that this was my favorite covers project of the year, but there’s some really good stuff here. Each rendition is faithful to the original but, at the same time, adds new flavor and accents.
