Jump In! is the lead song on Roy Schneider and Kim Mayfield’s new album, “Reckless Saints.” Close after that comes the more contemplative track, “If I Die Tomorrow.”
Together, these two songs pretty much tell you what this band is about: Country folk, with a bluegrass flavor–accessible Americana with clear, near-perfect vocals, and skillful instrumentation.
They’re not offering the album for stream anywhere, but the three available videos show the band’s range. I wish I could share “Ring Around the Moon” with you, though. It’s a beautiful song with a creeping bassline that makes me thing of “Empty Spaces” by Pink Floyd. “Angels Along the Road” is another keeper that you’ll have to order the album to hear.
I’d love hear them live, but right now they’re staying local in Florida.
