L.A.’s Blu and UA have teamed up to make one of Blu’s best albums yet—and that’s saying something. Blu is a prolific, talented underground rapper who tends to make very indie-sounding albums, but this one is different. It’s much more mainstream, and despite the heavy content feels like it’s got a lot more light in it. And I don’t just mean because of the radio-friendly song “Sunny.”
Instrumental breaks like “Sleepin” showcase Union Analogtronics’ production skills, and feel more like important components of the album than the usual between-cuts filler you find on so many rap albums.
This gets my highest recommendation!
