What if MF DOOM were in a really good mood, took ecstasy, and then fell in love? He might sound a little something like this wonderful, sunny sound collage of hip hop. Wildflower is a tribute to The Beatles, proves that hip hop didn’t abandon fun and joy forever in the 1980s, and it’s jam-packed with guests ranging from the classic Biz Markie to cutting edge starts like Danny Brown, to the afore mentioned DOOM to indie stars like Ariel Pink.
It’s been over fifteen years since these Australian DJs gave gifted us with an album, and Goddamn. If this is what fifteen years brings out, I’m find with waiting another 15 to see what happens next.
