God, what an awful album title for a such a good record. Some of you may remember Dothacker as Josh Klinghoffer’s (guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers) solo project, with members of Gnarls Barkley’s touring band.
It’s damn good, full of variety, and every song sounds fresh and new. But if you’re looking for RHCP funk, or even RHCP-lite, you’ll be disappointed. Instead, Dothacker’s album feels at times atmospheric, at times contemplative, and, always, beautiful.
Don’t miss this record–it’s extraordinary.
