I love this record.
When I first went through it, I liked it. Then I hit the cover of Richard Willis Hawley’s “Tonight the Streets Are Ours” and I shit my pants. That song was from the great documentary about Banksy titled, “Exit Through the Gift Shop.” The song always gives me chills. And she did an Aretha to it. I’ll never listen to the original again. Absolutely killed it.
Since then, I’ve been back through the album at least three times.
This album is amazing. I’m not going to compare her to Neko Case, like her press materials do, because Case never made me feel a damn thing. But Patsy Cline: That’s an apt comparison.
