QUEST FOR FIRE-“Quest for Fire”

Tee Pee records is on a roll lately, and their latest source of momentum is the new stoner jam record by

Quest For Fire titled, curiously enough, “Quest for Fire.”  The Toronto band consists of four ten-year veterans of the music scene (two of them were in The Deadly Snakes), who have come together to concentrate exclusive on long-form heavy psychedelics.  This isn’t just a tab, it’s a whole blotter sheet.  Each song is carefully and intricately designed to take you on a trip over the river and up the mountain—every note feels organic, every track has room to breathe.  I don’t know if the band name has any relation to the epic caveman film of the same title, but the music certainly feels dirty, primitive and, well, epic.  (Actually, I’ve read that they got the name from an Iron Maiden song, but I don’t know if that’s true.)
