For those who’ve only found me recently, it is my blog’s grand tradition to post something Clash-related at least once a month. Usually more. I know they’re not indie. But they might as well have been. In many ways, Strummer and Jones controlled their label, instead of vice-versa. And it wasn’t the label that killed them: It was their manager.
So, my first show on my new site is from The Clash’s “Out of Control” tour, with Richard Hell and the Vovoids, the father of CBGB punk. This is not a great quality boot, but it is an old one. I don’t have much from ’77-’78, and it’s great to hear them so alive, playing as a team. They also did 1977 twice. Strange.
A few tastes then a zip. Dig it.
