ROBBERS ON HIGH STREET (or YES, THEY SPORT A CONTRACT WITH AN RIAA LABEL BUT THEY’RE NOT OVERHYPED OR UNDERQUALIFIED

New York City’s fantastic indie power trio Robbers On High Street will release their new album, Grand Animals, on July 24th. I love the band and written positively of them in the past. So why am I sad? Because they’ve decided to put it on New Line Records, who are part of the RIAA. Very sad. I’m making an exception to my non-RIAA-only policy to give them a mention, though, because
the album is really great. Some of it you may have heard before on EPs, but it doesn’t sound like a bunch of thrown-together tunes. The album is cohesive, and the sound is great.

Congrats, boys. I hope the media machine doesn’t eat you up and swallow your sound.

Crown Victoria.
