Land of Talk are from Montreal, but they don’t make art music–they make alternative-sounding rock like this:

Field Music are jazzier, but they’re sharing the stage on tour with stars-of-the-moment Tokyo Police Club, so already you know it’s not pure jazz. But why talk about music when you can taste it?
And finally, the headliners are getting hype on MTV’s Subterranean these days, indie college rock band Menomena. Party music.
