MILTON AND THE DEVIL’S PARTY
The lead guitarist and songwriter of the band Milton and the Devil’s Party are English professors, and it shows. The lyrics to these songs are heavy. Epic, almost. At times it can be a little much to listen to, in fact, but overall it’s definitely worth a post and a listen from you all. I like the music a lot more than the words that go with it–I think they need to focus on writing a song as opposed to making a statement–but for every song on the album that doesn’t quite work for me, there’s a couple more that do. I’m curious to see where these folks are going in the future.

Means I have mixed feelings even about posting their live stuff. Oh well, I’ll do it for now but I won’t do it often, and it’s just because I think these guys are in, like, the top 10 bands around today.

I saw this add that said something about how the human heart starts beating after 20-some-odd days but you have the right to stop it from beating for the next 100. An anti-choice ad, obviously, from a group that also supports teaching creationism in schools. Have you ever noticed that religious political activists are all into science when it tells you when a particular life begins, but aren’t interested in science when it tells you how all life began?
