Like the Beatles, but wish they were a little rootsier–like maybe if KT Tunstall replaced George Harrison? Then this is the EP for you.
I know, I know, Beatles covers are a dime a dozen and these aren’t even esoteric cuts: Eleanor Rigby, Come Together, All You Need Is Love…But the arrangements are original, and they do what all great covers do: They keep enough of the original, but add a flavor and inflection you’ve never heard before. No matter how many times you’ve heard it covered before.
Willis has a great voice, and her style is organic: It feels live, even if you know it’s produced. This is an excellent EP.
She’s made a new fan out of me!
