Sinead O’Connor is to folk/alternative what Eminem is to rap: She reveals herself, all her rage, all her grudges, her hurts, and, yes, her own flaws. She exposes herself through her music. And her new album, her tenth, reveals deep pain and deep flaws beautifully.
It’s her best since I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got. It’s awesome, it’s well-written, it’s well sung, it’s beautifully crafted.
