Beauty and the Beat is a rare example of a perfect album. No filler. Deep cuts are moodier than the singles. The singles became world-wide hits. And at least one timeless anthem: We Got the Beat.
True, their two other major label albums were not as good (but were still good enough), and the band quickly fell prey to drugs and infighting. But that one record is incredible.
So I was excited for this tribute album, and it does not disappoint. All your favorites (or most of them anyway) are here.
