Picture some of your favorite punk and new wave tunes as smooth, coffeeshop music and you’ve got the idea. My personal favorite: They took all the snarl out of The Replacements’ “Bastards of Young” and left us with…A really, really good song. And then of course there’s the seemingly not-ironic piano-driven Rebel Yell, a wonderful Misfits cover, a truly fresh take on Pay to Cum…And Sex Beat takes the cake.
