Sia is best known as a songwriter, and on her latest solo record you can hear the voices of everyone she’s written for. And even some she hasn’t. Rihanna. Christina Aguilera. All the Eminem hooks from the past three years. Katy Perry. Beyonce. Kylie Minogue. It makes you realize how influential she’s been in shaping what pop music sounds like in the 2010s.
If you can find a better pop album released so far this year, please tell me. Or at least a better Side One of a pop album. The last few songs are kinda toss-offs. But the first six? Incredible.
