If you miss PJ Harvey or The Breeders, Scout Niblett’s latest record is probably what you need in your life. It’s tough. It’s muscular. And it does all that without the over-singing of Karen O. And it still sounds deep and mellow.
In other words, it’s not a one-size-fits-all record. Great bass guitar work. Great grinding rhythms. I can’t tell yet if I love this album or just really, really like it.
But either way, that’s a win, innit?
