UK’s The Voodoo Trombone Quartet are a largely instrumental band–I seem to be posting on quite a few of these lately, with a sound like updated 1970s funk. In other words, they’re really a BAND, not just a “band” that uses digital overdubs and studios to refine an otherwise muddy sound or fix otherwise unqualified musicianship.
Think Kool and the Gang meets fusion Miles meets a little bit of P-Funk. Just a little.
