I fully endorse this grim, alt-hip-hop album. Dense. Thoughtful. For those who don’t know (I didn’t), these guys have been around since the turn of the century, recently returning to make albums like this one. That explains the old-school/boom bap feel. It’s thoroughly modern, it just has an overall shape that reminds me of the ’90s.
It’s excellent.
