It’s been almost a decade since Midlake’s last record, and even longer since they showed pure genius with 2006’s The Trials of Van Occupanther.
Do they still got it? Yes. Yes, they do. This is easily their best record since the 2006 one.
It’s full of the kind of soaring folk that you’d expect, it’s beautiful, and it’s charming.
