Yes of course this album will be on many best of lists at the end of the year. It’s delicious. It’s smooth. It’s sexy. It’s catchy. It’s all the right things.
It’s also a rarity: An indie album by a female that’s NOT DEPRESSING. NOT SAD. NOT ACOUSTIC. It’s downright joyous. Which was the point. Michelle Zauner just finished a terribly sad autobiography and she wanted to just cut loose. And she did. It pulled my heartstrings up while raising my heart rate.
It’s awesome.
