Does anybody remember anger?
Two Australian punk bands today. First. with an album title like “New Vietnam,” Civic better be a band with big balls. They are. Solid, raging punk from Australia. Definitely check ‘em out.
And second is my favorite of the two, the new album by Little Ugly Girls. These ladies have never released an album, but they’ve been recording together since the 1990s. Seriously. That’s a long time to wait. So you know, out of the box, they’re gonna bring it. Years of frustration. There’s something sexy about calling yourself ugly, and something powerful about grabbing a mic and screaming out every pain and slight, every passion and rage…
“Just to embarrass you, I am a spectacle,” they chant on “The Pit.” I’m not ashamed at all. These ladies are awesome.
This is real punk, with a hard metal edge.
