FREEDOM by AMEN DUNES

if you were a fan of the moody shadows of Dozier but prefer a somewhat more grounded, attainable vocalist, then this may be for you. Amen Dunes’ “Freedom” definitely emphasizes the singer side of singer/songwriter. His music feels stoner mellow but heavy and deep–not just a trip, a journey.

He’s got a good bunch of folks behind him, too: On drums, Parker Kindred (Antony & The Johnsons, Jeff Buckley). Keyboards: Jordi Wheeler and producer: Chris Coady (Beach House). And it was recorded over the course of three years at New York’s famous Electric Lady Studios and L.A.’s Sunset Sound.
