You’ve got to get five minutes in and three tracks deep before a human voice appears for the first time on The Rooftops’ debut album, “A Forest Of Polarity.” The overall sound is somewhere between fusion jazz and math rock, a steady beat under layered horns and electric guitar (among other things). It’s a high energy album, but it’s also pretty safe–and I mean that in a good way. These talented musicians don’t feel the need to try to prove anything; they’re here to have fun and make sweet tunes.
This was a 2009 release on Clickpop Records.
