THE CLASH: 5 GO MAD AT THE ROUNDHOUSE.

Here’s a bootleg that’s more for the fans than the newcomers. Back in 1976, the then-new Clash played a few nights at The Roundhouse in London. Nobody knew who the band was at the time, but that didn’t stop they from sounding hungry. Lots of songs you’ll never find anywhere else. This is the only the fifth time that the band ever played together live, and the lineup was a little different, too. The first night, they were joined by Keith Levine on guitar. (Mick is playing as well, of course.) This is an audience bootleg, so the quality isn’t great, but it’s good enough. There’s also lots of long stalls between some of the songs as Joe tries to deal with the peanut gallery in the crowd. Those lucky motherfuckers had no idea what they were seeing . . .

A few tastes, and a zip.
