Runaways #15-19 (2006): Parental Guidance

The first issue of this arc has brief check-ins with the cast who are feeling the loss of Karolina. Karolina is in space with her new boyfriend but misses her fellow Runaways.
But most of the issue is devoted to an online group of superhero video gamers. It’s revealed that Alex Wilder used to play with these people and they miss him (and also didn’t know he was a bad guy) and use black magic to raise him from the dead but instead…

They raise Alex’s dad. Thus we have a new iteration of the Pride, but this time…They’re also kids, just like the Runaways. I’m still mass-tagging them under the “Pride” tag though.
He quickly returns to his evil ways and kidnaps Molly.
Karolina returns and they go to track Molly down. After being tricked (and nearly killed by a bomb left behind by the new Pride), they find her but Geoffrey Wilder shoots Nico.

Don’t worry, she’s not dead. But in the chaos, Geoffrey Wilder manages to kill Gert. Before dying, Gert is able to transfer her psychic connection to Chase, so that he is now bonded with Old Lace.

In the aftermath, the team catches Wilder and Nico memory wipes him and sends him back to his old time. However, the ancient Gibborim Gods who met Wilder as a child gave him a ring. During his travel forward in time adventure, Chase stole it.
The arc closes with Chase having run away from the team with Gert’s pet dinosaur, Old Lace.

Chase is wearing the ring.

SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED #15 (2006): Series ends
The final issue has two stories, one written and drawn by the great Klaus Janson but, sadly, it’s not great. The second story is a Lizard story that’s also not…
