THE GHOST RIDER #21-22 (1976-1977)

L.A. crime lord The Enforcer hires Gladiator and The Eel to fight Ghost Rider.

The art in these issues is cruder than ever, and the story isn’t much better.  Lots of people die, though, including The Eel whose death is a slice-and-dice and there’s actually blood and everything.  Much more explicit than past Marvel deaths.

Anyway, an old lady sees Ghost Rider standing over Eel’s body and accuses him of the crime.  The cops try to arrest him(!) and he fools them by creating a second Ghost Rider out of hellfire.

Silly.  Pointless.
