Thor annual #6 (1977)

My coverage of annuals on this site is spotty, but how could I resist digging around for this one?  Thor and the original Guardians of the Galaxy!

Korvac snatches Thor out-of-time, and sends him to the Guardians’ future, but in outer space.  Because Thor can’t breathe in space, he “dies” and becomes frozen.  But he’s immortal, so when Starhawk happens upon him, he is able to pull him on to the Guardians’ vessel and thaw him out.

Fantastic parallel to Avengers #4, when Captain America was brought forward into the Marvel Universe timeline after being frozen in the arctic.

The rest of the issue is Thor+Guardians versus Korvac, and it’s a lot of fun.  There’s no hint that Korvac will become a major menace to The Avengers in this story.  So I’m gonna say Korvac learned from this, and got much better, quickly.
