THE HULK #127 (1970)

The cover tag promises “three of Marvel’s most sinister villains!” but what we get is Tyrranus, the Roman sorcerer banished to live beneath the Earth by Merlin going to war against Mole Man and using the robot Mogul (an an enslaved Hulk) as his main weapons.

Hulk wasn’t Thomas’ best writing, but it’s some of Trimpe’s best work.  His style is a bit chunky and innocent-almost child-like-which matches well with a character like Hulk.  He is doing his own inking here, so you’re really seeing full Trimpe.

Creators: Roy Thomas and Herb Trimpe
