For sheer commercial efecft I would say Stan Lee but it seems everything now a days has a foreword by Stan. If he was agreeable to it though, another commercially attractive name would be Alan Moore. My personal choices (Like I will EVER write anything above the level of restroom wall reading ) would be Steve Englehart or Peter David. Both writers I have the highest opinion of. If you are looking for a lot of fanboy appeal to the book Geoff Johns would be another person to talk to.
