Hello
I’m a music fan just like you, with a bit of OCD I think, also just like you.
I’m writing to you about one of my favorite bands. They’re called The Lightning Bug Situation.
The main guy in the group is also Jolie Holland’s guitar player and is all over her last three albums. He’s the real deal. Now I know you don’t like MySpace but this page actually has no music on it yet:
http://www.myspace.com/thesolarisbugsituation
Yes, I swear there is a correlation just like frickin Dark Side of the Moon and Wizard of Oz and I think once the new album comes out AND you listen to it while watching the 1972 Solaris with the sound off you will be blown away. Much like I was. And maybe by the time the album comes out the band will admit to there actually being a correlation–I mean, c’mon–there totally is!
Thanks for reading, you’ve got a superb blog.

There is this guy I know who just cut an EP. I work with him. Really ought to check him out. He’s a 1 man musical band. He’s cut the whole EP solo. The name he goes by is Astrobotica Supra’ De Nova. Google it. It’s just simply music. No lyrics, but still something incredible about it.

I am a novice to WordPress. I am setting one up for an 11th grade English class. 2 questions have arisen from the teacher that I cannot anwser. How do I load pictures to the site, is there any way to comment on a comment to get a thread going between say 2 or 3 students. Where is a good place to go to find out this info for someone who is WP challenged.

I didn’t answer your questions before, did I?
There’s a button to upload pictures on the page when you are posting.
As for comments, you just commented and now I’m commenting. Not sure exactly what you mean.

My name is Paul and I and a couple of other guys run Exit Stencil Recordings in Cleveland. Our website is http://www.exitstencil.org
We are particularly excited about a couple of our bands -
Blake Miller who is young but incredibly prolific. His music gets better every day it seems.
http://www.myspace.com/burntape try “long hair” this will be on his next release.
The New Lou Reeds have been making some waves with “Bury Me with My Bong”. This is NOT a drug glorification song – one look at the band and the message is clear “kids, stay away from drugs!”
http://www.myspace.com/thenewloureeds
Julian Cope says:
I gots to say the English summer got off to an appalling start what with the downpours throughout the Solstice and the iron gauntlet with which the fuzz chose to police Glastonbury and Avebury. Even for we locals, Avebury was impenetrable as hoards of boys in blue did everything in their power (and more) to keep ye heathens at bay. Instead of hanging at the stones with the revellers, I chose to stay in and get para-munted with The New Lou Reeds’ amazing ‘Bury Me With My Bong’ playing on endless rotation.

quite a nice little site with quite a few bands i haven’t heard of. that is a good thing. i have
the hardest time listening to any type of mainstream music. I see there are bands that i do like myself, Modest Mouse , The Pixies, and The EEL’s. favorite EEL’s song used to be
I Like Birds. I guess that must be the perv in me., but after watching The Great White i must say that I Want to Protect You is pretty good too.
keep up the good work

Dear Friend at The Captains Dead,
Would the music of Hannah Speirs kind of interest you at all ?
Her sound is kind of like Sufjan Stevens,Feist and Sarah McLaughlin combined..she is only 18 btw..
Her EP The View was officially launched quietly in mid August this year 2009
I am seriously looking for any kind of feedback and an honest review of her music would be cool.
Her EP can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/hannahspeirs

Ekko,
My name is Mike Corbett, and I am the lead singer of Midnight Spin. We are a Williamsburg, Brooklyn rock band who have been touring around the country these past few months in support of our debut EP, Through the Mojo Wire. The album was produced by our friend Nic Hard (The Bravery), and we are currently working on our first-ever music video for our debut single, In the Air (Revival). We have upcoming shows at the Mercury Lounge this Sunday and at Santos Party House on December 11. I am writing in the hopes that you would give our music a listen and a possible review, as we are looking for as many reviews as possible in our run-up to our SXSW application. Hey,
We are Our Husband. We have just released our first single, titled “Villages”.
It marks the first release from our yet to be named album. We hope to
have it finished by the end of the year.
Here’s a little about us -
After moving from cold, cold Melbourne Nathaniel (Fire! Santa Rosa,
Fire! formed Our Husband with Freya, (Bing goes to Monaco) an
established musician within the Adelaide “Tweed Pop” scene. With
intentions to stray from the currently popular “Doe eyed” genre of
folk, Our Husband write decisively more abrasive pop songs with
country and soft rock influence.
Love
Nathaniel & Freya.

My name is Thomas DeWitt, and I am writing this email in order to bring attention to a brand new webcomic, that I have been reading as of late that I think is really great. The name of the webcomic is Wayward Sons , and it is written By Benny Powell with art by Weilin Yang.
The story is described as follows:
Every fairy tale, every legend, every myth we’ve ever believed was wrong. There are no ancient all-powerful gods. Gilgamesh, Hercules, Thor, Osiris and even King Arthur, however, were all too real.
Today, they walk among us. Rudderless, they each have their own agendas. All save a few that have seen the future – a future that would receive its salvation, not through the works of the risen warriors; but their wayward children.
The wayward sons are a group of young adults who discover that their parents are immortal aliens, once worshiped as the gods of the ancient world. Now they must defeat them to save humanity.
The Wayward Sons story is also in development by Red Giant Media/Intrinsic Value films as a motion picture please stop by and give this page a look

Hi!
I was wondering if you’d be willing to review my comic made exclusively for the iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch. I can either send you promocodes to download the first 2 issues for free, or I can email you PDF’s of the first 2 issues as they would appear on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
So far I’ve approached 4 small review sites, and got 4 wicked reviews, so I’m trying my luck with bigger fish (you).
Our Comic is called WMDs, as in Weapons of Mass Destruction. Its about a super-powered former assassin seeking redemption (Linda Fuentes) who joins the US government’s OSHC (Office of Super Human Control) to try to stop the proliferation of superhuman WMDs.
You can checkout our video trailers on website is http://www.wmdsthecomic.com
We’re also on twitter, facebook and YouTube.

‘Studying in the world famous Italia Conti Academy, Britain’s oldest theatre arts training school with past students including Russel Brand, Sharon Osborne and Pixie Lott., Peaches would experience the road to fame firsthand. Following the footsteps of her pal pixieLott, Peaches too, is releasing her first single at the age of 16. It’s just a matter of time until you will find her face smiling at you from magazine covers. Following her great success in performing with a full band at the famous London jazz venue Ronnie Scott’s 50th anniversary event, and in Yorkshire festivals, her unique voice is just waiting to fill up venues across the capital.’

Ekko,
Big fan of the site man…wish you’d put up more hip-hop once in a while but the stuff you do throw up on the blog is dope. I’m still blogging away with blogger and I noticed that you (along with many others) have made the switch to wordpress. Does wordpress give you a better blogging experience/more tools/more control over the site? It’s more expensive than blogger for sure, but is it worth it?

Yo Ekko,
Big fan of the blog…been following for some time now and you have great taste in unsigned talent. Wish you would throw up more hip-hop, but I appreciate that you don’t feel the need to post simply for the sake of posting.
Anyways, I see you’ve made the crossover from blogger to WordPress. Any thoughts/comments you care to share about the experience and the new interface? My blog on blogger is relatively new and I’m thinking of switching over myself, but I’m not sure I see the benefit for the extra cost. Any tips/advice?
Thanks in advance. It would be cool if you would check my site as well – keepinmusicclassy.com

Hi Ekko,
I’m Hasina and the song I’m sharing is called See Line Woman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yVE_ah3aMs). This song is gritty, sexy and charismatic with a heavy pop feel. It’s a taste of what’s to come in my debut album, which is slated for release this year. My hometown is New York City where I perform regularly with my band.
Please listen, play again, dance, and comment! Making music is what I do and I want to share my gift with everyone so I’d love to get your feedback.
