C’MON, COVERS? by PERPETUAL GROOVE (EP)

This is a very nice collection of four covers. I wish there were a few more!

The song selections are choice. Peter Gabriel’s prog rock sound is not a surprise as a jam-based cut–and yet it is the least psychedelic of the songs on this EP. Drive by The Cars is probably the song from that band that translates easiest to Perpetual Groove’s kind of sound, and their version is terrific. Choosing The Go-Gos is inspired. I never would have thought that their big hit could extend past four minutes.

And closing out with a powerful Southern traditional.

Extremely good and highly recommended.
