INTRODUCING…AARON FRAZER

Old school soul with slick, new jack production from the drummer for Durand Jones & The Indications. Yes, the drummer. And his voice is magnificent.

If blue-eyed soul turns you off, I get it. It lacks the bottom of Curtis Mayfield and the urgency of Isaac Hayes. But don’t think of it as derivative, think of it as a mutation for the 2010s. None of these songs are covers, after all. And following almost two years of a quarantine, lots of us lack bottom and urgency. We just want something to help us glide through–and maybe make our heads bob, hips sway, and souls groove. Something sweet to carry us through.

At a minimum, this album is really good. If I’m still digging it this much in a few weeks, I’ll call it great. I think it’s great.

Yeah, it’s great.
