X-Men Unlimited #39 (2003)

Someone thought it would be a good idea to make this book monthly this year.

This issue has three stories featuring Storm.  First, Jason Pearson writes and draws Storm and Magneto get into an argument that Storm is not “mutant enough” because she’s thrown in with Professor X instead of the more militant mutant rights movement.  In story 2, Storm stopped at Japan’s border by Sunfire, who tells her that mutants aren’t allowed into the country anymore.  Finally, Chris Claremont and Paul Smith take us back in time and has Storm and Yukio fight until Storm adopts her “mohawk” look.  Nice to see them back together for this period of the Uncanny X-Men—definitely the high water mark for X-books.
