New Warriors #3 (1990)

The Mad Thinker is engaged by Genetech to test The New Warriors.  He as the super-shape-changing android Primus then visit the team members one by one to assess their strategic and physical threat levels.

And then, in the end, he has out-thunk them all.

An issue about “data gathering” could have been boring, but the creators do an excellent job here.  Well worth reading.

Interesting that, as we move into the 1990s, existing books like Avengers and Moon Knight are mostly getting worse, where new launches like this one and Ghost Rider are doing pretty good.  I recognize there are exceptions to this, like Walt Simonson’s run on Fantastic Four (great!) and the new Namor book (not great).

Creators: Fabian Nicieza, Mark Bagley
