CAPTAIN AMERICA #122 (1970)

Captain America is (yet again) whining about being a man out of time.  And feeling purposeless.

He’s saved the world, and countless cities and people, at least two hundred times since he woke up from his coma.  How can he wonder if there’s “a use for me”?  It’s a little ridiculous.

He’s out in the street as Steve Rogers when he gets mugged by Scorpion. Marvel switched around villains a lot–it was one of the things they did that made them different from the other superhero comic publishers back in the 1960s.   Also, Cap’s uniform and shield fits in that tiny briefcase.  Marvel magic.

At the end of the issue, Sharon is kidnapped.

Creators: Stan Lee and Gene Colan

Grade: C+. Slightly above average.
