Dem Atlas’ new album, Bad Actress, is a rugged R&B album. It’s got muscles in the form of guitar and solid backbeats, like on the song “Never Belonged,” but it’s clearly got heavy soul in its genes. If you don’t know what I mean, the production is by Ant (of Atmosphere). That probably helps, right?
It’s probably not a record that will take your breath away, but it’s got some truly fine moments–and it’s a broad departure from last year’s collaboration with MF DOOM.
